Berita7 | Mancanegara,. Tangerang City – The 24th Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) officially opened on Sunday, October 5, 2025, with a festive and spiritual atmosphere. Under the theme “Together with the Qur’an, Building Tangerang City,” the opening ceremony featured a vibrant parade from 13 districts, the beating of traditional drums, and dazzling fireworks that lit up the night sky.

A total of 580 participants from across Tangerang City joined the competition, all aiming for the prestigious championship trophy. Batuceper District, last year’s overall winner, is once again determined to defend its title with its best qori and qariah.

Mayor Syahruddin expressed his gratitude to the organizing committee and participants for the successful event, emphasizing that all competitors are proud residents of Tangerang City.

“We hope this event will produce the best reciters who will represent Tangerang City at the provincial and national levels,” he said.

The ceremony concluded with the handover of the rotating trophy from Batuceper District and a collective prayer for the success of the MTQ. The celebration reflected the city’s deep commitment to nurturing spirituality, harmony, and excellence through the teachings of the Qur’an.
