This dedication was emphasized by Tangerang Mayor Sachrudin, during the official opening of the 2025 Mayor’s Cup Golf Tournament, organized by the Indonesian Golf Association. The tournament, held on Thursday (July 31), took place at the Modernland Golf Course in Tangerang and attracted 169 participants from across the country.
“Sports are not just about competition—they offer spaces for connection, positive interaction, and instilling values deeply rooted in society. This is what we aim to nurture in Tangerang,” Mayor Sachrudin remarked during the event.

The Mayor highlighted the potential of sport tourism as a growing sector with both health and economic benefits. By organizing regional and national sports events, the city hopes to stimulate local economic activity while fostering community well-being.

“This tournament marks an initial step. We hope to see more sporting events in the future, positioning Tangerang as a vibrant, health-oriented city with strong tourism appeal,” he added.
